WHAT MAKES THIS GREEN SMOOTHIE ESSENTIAL FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON?

It’s a nutrient dense kick in the rear when you’re busy feasting on holiday treats and enjoying Christmas cocktails on a daily basis. Between the spiced eggnog, heavy meals and continuous carb-y snacks (think potato chips, pretzels and baked goods) there isn’t a whole lot of room for salads and green smoothies.
However, if you can start your day right with something green and nutrient dense you can counteract or help negate some of the nutritional damage you’re going to do throughout the day (or the liver damage you’ve done the night before).
This holiday green smoothie is fresh and energizing, low in sugar, high in fibre and exploding with anti-oxidants. It’s a nice and welcomed contrast to the regular holiday fare.
And because it’s the most festive time of year, I believe it’s a time when calculated indulgence is appropriate and good for the soul.
