THE SALT POT KITCHEN (BRITISH PASTRIES, SAUSAGE ROLLS & WILTSHIRE PLAITS)

Wendy and Charlie Salt at The Salt Pot Kitchen are a mother/son, British/American team, working together to promote all that is fantastic and scrummy (aka. delicious) about British food! Namely Savory pasties, Sausage rolls, Wiltshire plaits, Individual savory pies and fabulous homemade soups. Our best sellers tend to be: Pasties - the Traditional (Beef, potato, rutabaga and onion encased in a delicious flaky pastry)...but try the Vegetarian too (Curried aubergine (egg plant), onion and potato) - you won't regret it! Sausage Rolls - locally sourced pork meat, minced in-house, seasoned with authentic seasonings and wrapped in delicious flaky pastry. Wiltshire Plaits - similar to the sausage roll, but with added onions, garlic, local apples and cheddar cheese, all encased in a gorgeous pastry plait (braid) - it looks and tastes yummy! Leek and Cheese Plaits - these were created for our vegetarian friends, but often end up being a favourite amongst the carnivores as well! We'll have a selection of different soups available, changing them up each week to use seasonal vegetables whenever possible. Some examples of flavors you can look forward to are: Roasted Cauliflower and Turmeric, Potato, Cheddar and Bacon, Leek and Potato, Creamy Corn and Potato Chowder, and Celery and Potato. Finally, there will be individual crafted pies, these will include: Cottage Pie (minced (ground) beef and topped with mashed potatoes) Shepherds Pie (minced (ground) lamb and topped with mashed potatoes), Beef and Mushroom (rich and deep with flavour - this takes a full 2 days for the flavours to mature to perfection)

Chicken and Leek (smooth and creamy). Lancashire Hotpot (a lamb stew from the north of England topped with sliced potatoes). Everything is made freshly in-house, and partnerships developed with local Loudoun farmers provide us with the most delicious local meats and vegetables.
